Comprehensive guidelines to enable organization-wide clarity & global adoption

A robust design strategy was developed to ensure coherency across the J&J corporate brand and consumer brands.

A unique icon was developed for each shared content pillar, aligning with the J&J corporate sustainability messaging strategy.

Brand-led color palettes helped to keep brand activations brand-first.

Johnson & Johnson
Sustainability Iconography

While focused on building brands for Essential Health, it became apparent that there was a need for a system of icons to communicate various aspects of sustainability.

Taking the initiative to work across teams and corporate communications, I spearheaded an internal initiative to work with all brands to develop iconography that could be shared across all consumer brands and serve as Johnson & Johnson's official sustainability iconography.

Taking a systems thinking approach, common content territories were identified along with a flexible color strategy that allowed for brand-forward activation in all sustainability communications.
